The Artist
I am a practicing artist with a studio at art is…studio & gallery. I operate the artist space with a partner where six artists are in residence.
I have established art is…gallery as a sole venture to promote and encourage local, established and emerging artists to exhibit. Exhibitions are held regularly throughout the year and proposals and/or expressions of interest can be submitted directly to myself.

I am a qualified Porcelain Art Teacher with the Australasian Porcelain Art Teachers (APAT) and have practiced this art form and taught for more than thirty years. In later years my focus has shifted somewhat to Water Colour and Oil painting. I studied at the Brougham School of Art & Photography and gained my Diploma and Advanced Diploma.
I am a colourist and love the world of flowers; I also enjoy landscape and portraiture subjects. I am fascinated by form and the interaction of light and shade in nature. Quality of paint is important to me and I aim to represent my chosen subject with a painterly approach. I also enjoy using a palette knife when working with oils to achieve texture and dimension. I often work in my studio from photos I have taken, arranging and re-arranging with a view to pleasing composition.
